In reference to the made respecting William Leslie, formerly
of Hongkong Police-
I have the honor to
report,
William Leslie, born in Scotland,
that
volunteered from the 65th Regiment, and
joined the Hongkong Police on the 13th March
1844; he
dismissed on
the 18th December
1847, re-appointed on the 8th September 1848, and finally resigned 31st December 1848; in April 1847, he left Hongkong for Sydney, as Ship's Steward, but I cannot
ascertain the
Name
